In outdoor conditions, however, the brightness values lagged behind the others. This made reading difficult, especially in sunlight. Xiaomi 14 Ultra Display:
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s display performance was average for an ultra-thin device, supported by excellent color and haptic results.
Although the Xiaomi 14 Ultra has low modulation and high PWM (1920 Hz) to reduce flicker, its readability is affected by the consequences of outdoor lighting, especially in sunlight, and has fallen behind the Samsung Galaxy etc. S24 Ultra. Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Display:
For a premium device, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE delivered excellent display performance.
The overall readability of the device was very good, especially indoors and in low light conditions. It wasn’t until the lighting conditions became increasingly challenging that the display showed its limitations. In sunlight, the device’s screen lacks brightness and detail. Although the maximum brightness of the device is 1800 nits, it is not enough for comfortable reading.
In addition, the brightness of the display was too high in low light conditions, a trend our testers also noticed on other Samsung devices.
The video quality of the Galaxy S24 FE was excellent. The display’s ideal 120Hz software management resulted in virtually no image inconsistency when displaying all video formats from FHD SDR to UHD HDR10 at 60fps. Additionally, video playback was very good, providing an enjoyable HDR10 and SDR viewing experience in low light and indoors.
The touchscreen controls on the Galaxy FE were very good, with the display generally providing accurate and responsive feedback. But operating the device with one hand showed a lot of unnecessary touches.
